In 2012 the EdTech platform Nearpod was created. The platform was aimed to increase student engagement in the classroom by creating meaningful learning through technology integration.
The Covid-19 pandemic made traditional instruction and classroom settings difficult and in some cases impossible. One of Nearpod's missions throughout this challenging time for educators across the globe was to provide better educational aid for teachers and to enhance the teaching learning experiences of students. The ability to access Nearpod through google classroom was particularly useful during this time.
As it relates to classroom management, the many features of the platform promote a more authentic classroom experience, especially during times when teaching has to be done online. Furthermore, with the synchronous form of online learning and assessment teachers can better track student learning and performance. The Nearpod platform can increase student motivation and to become more active in classroom activities. The real-time interactive classroom design ensures class participation and prevents students from using other programs to disrupt the class and the learning process.

I always shy away from Nearpod because of the lack of internet within my own institution. However, after reading about the multiple uses and benefits I will surely renew my subscription.
